Shivakumara Swami

, who is battling lung infection, has been put on an oxygen mask. The 111-year-old seer was shifted to Siddaganga Mutt hospital in Tumakuru late Thursday evening.

On Thursday, a team of doctors from BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Bengaluru and an infectious diseases specialist from Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre, Chennai, were in the mutt to treat the seer.

“The swamiji has bacterial infection in the lungs and is responding to treatment,” said Dr Paramesh S from Siddaganga hospital, who is the seer’s personal doctor.

He said the seer is suspected to be suffering form

hypoproteinemia

The seer had undergone liver bypass surgery and 10 liver tube stents were removed on December 8 at Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre. He was brought back to the mutt on December 19.
