Lovelorn girl kills herself in mall

BANGALORE: After discovering that her lover was married and the father of two children, a 21-year-old sales girl working in Mantri Mall in Malleswaram committed suicide by consuming poison inside the mall premises on Tuesday night.
Annapoorna, a resident of Laggere and native of Hassan, is survived by her parents and three older sisters.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Annapoorna had an affair with a co-worker in the mall.According to her father Shekhar, the man hid the fact that he was married. However, police did not reveal the man's name saying they will do so only after preliminary investigation is over.
Annapoorna and the man were working in the shop for the past three years, police said.
"The man never told Annapoorna that he was married and had twins. However, last week Annapoorna saw his sons' photographs in the mobile and was upset since," Shekar told police. He works as a dailywage worker in RMC Yard.
According to police, on Tuesday night, Annapoorna had a showdown with the man and accused him of cheating her.
"Then Annapoorna came inside the storeroom, consumed poison and sat there. Her colleague grew suspicious when Annapoorna fell down and began frothing at the mouth. She alerted the floor manager who shifted her to KC General hospital," a police officer said.
Annapoorna died on Wednesday morning and police arrested the man and recovered his mobile. "We have to cross-check the text messages exchanged between the two. We shall reveal his name and other details once we complete primary investigation," deputy commissioner of police (north) Sandeep Patil told TOI.
