SHIMOGA: Hurt by his father and former chief minister S. Bangarappa’s attitude towards him, former minister Kumar Bangarappa on Thursday announced that he was quitting the BJP.
Keeping his options open about returning to the Congress, Kumar in an interview to The Times of India here said he would announce his stand in two or three days. However, Kumar, who played the role of an obedient son by following his father to the BJP stopped short of joining issues with him.
Bangarappa has said his son was denied the ticket as the latter had sidelined him, did not do any work or helped the poor.
Kumar, who is being pressurised by his supporters to rejoin the Congress dubbed the BJP as a communal party. “My father has taken a wrong decision in joining the BJP,� he added.
