Bangalore: Heavy fog in Kolkata affected flights in that sector from the Bengaluru International Airport on Tuesday.
A BIAL spokesperson said: "No fog was reported at the BIA on Tuesday. But there was fog at Kolkata airport and flights in that sector were delayed."
Since December 10, fog has affected arrivals and departures in Bangalore, particularly in the morning.
BIA has posted information for air travellers as more delays are likely.
Meteorological department director A Muthuchami said fog is expected to continue over the next two days with temperatures of 14-15 degrees C. "Inversion in lower layer surface increases atmospheric warmth with rise in temperature above 1.5 km, creating a ideal atmosphere for fog formation. With clouds from Tamil Nadu moving towards the state, we expect fog to end within two days," Muthuchami had earlier told TOI.
