KMF seeks TTD’s time to talk ghee supply

Bengaluru: Days after courting controversy over the supply of Nandini ghee for preparation of laddus at Tirupati Venkateshwara Temple in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka Milk Federation on Thursday wrote to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) seeking a date and time to discuss ghee supply and pricing.
KMF managing director MK Jagadish wrote to the executive officer of TTD. “KMF being a cooperative farmers’ organisation cannot go for competitive bidding in tenders due to the difficulty in recovery of production cost of ghee at such rates,” the letter said. Jagadish said KMF is in a good relationship with TTD and never expressed that the latter is procuring low-quality ghee. tnn
