Peace-keeping in the Middle East, nuclear reactors in Iran and weather wars were among the topics discussed at the CHSMUN, the maiden Model United Nations (MUN), hosted by Cathedral High School in Bangalore recently.
With over 20 schools and 150 students, it was one of the biggest and was voted third among numerous MUNs in Bangalore . This had four committees , including the General Assembly Disarmament and International Security Committee, which discussed the Middle East, specifically the Arab Spring.
The United Nations Security Council deliberated on nuclear proliferation in Iran, and the United Committee on Chaos debated weather wars. The press corps raised the entertainment quotient by a few notches.
Chief guest Sreelakshmi Gururaj, with a Unicef background, and principal Isabella Simon shared their ideas with students who tried to resolve issues by drafting resolutions. The event ended with the distribution of awards.
