BANGALORE: Excited by Lewis Hamilton's super driving,
Ashok Kheny, MD, NICE, plans to construct a racing track just off the Nice road. Currently, there are four in the city at Whitefield, beyond Raja Rajeshwarinagar, R T Nagar and RVCE. The R T Nagar one is the most popular.
"The excitement of the fans shows there are racing enthusiasts in the city," said Kheny.
There's no timeframe for the project. "Many people have asked permission for racing on Nice road but it's not practical. This new track could encourage racing enthusiasts," he said.
He said it was an honour for Nice to hold Tuesday's event. The stretch where Lewis drove would be opened for traffic soon. The road is in good shape and requires no repair. "There was a court case regarding this particular stretch. We got permission from the court on Monday, so we'll be continuing with the work," Kheny said.
