BANGALORE: S Ramesh, the newly elected Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) president, has denied allegations of malpractices in the Chamber''s election on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters at the muhurat of Kannada film Y2K, Ramesh said Jaimala should accept the defeat sportingly instead of making false and baseless allegations. "Even the report submitted by Basant Kumar Patil (Kannada Film Producers'' Association president) said the election was free and fair."
Asserting that he would never politicise KFCC, Ramesh said he asked producers, distributors and exhibitors to submit their demands and grievances in writing so that they can be placed before the chamber''s executive committee and a decision taken.
"Even some Tamil distributors have submitted a memorandum seeking solutions to their problems."
Making it clear that the Rajkumar family hadn''t fielded any candidate for the election, Ramesh said he will consult Rajkumar and senior artistes before taking crucial decisions on Kannada film industry. "In fact, when I met Parvathamma Rajkumar, she said she wanted an election to the post."
