BANGALORE: The Kannada Development Authority (KDA) will celebrate 2009 as 'Kannada Implementation Year'.
KDA wants to enforce Kannada in administration, business transaction, education and signboards to protect the state's boundary and provide jobs to Kannadigas.
Also, KDA released a booklet explaining the role of officials and public in preserving the language.
At the function, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said the government is committed to implementing Kannada in the administration.
"We'll organize awareness programmes throughout the year," KDA chairman Mukhyamantri Chandru said.
