BENGALURU: Forensic tests haven't found semen traces of
Karthik Gowda, son of Union law minister DV
Sadananda Gowda, on the clothes of an actor who had charged him with raping her.
Sources said the forensic science laboratory submitted a report to North division police two weeks ago. "There are no traces of semen. The liquid traces on the clothes are sweat traces," sources said, citing the report.
"We are waiting for voice record samples, which are expected in a month's time," said a police officer, who was part of the investigating team.
The TV serial and film actor had filed a complaint with RT Nagar police around a year ago that 30-year-old Karthik had sexual relations with her and promised to marry her.
However, when he recently was about to tie the knot with another woman, the 27-year-old actor claimed he was already married to her. She claimed Karthik married her in an informal ceremony in Mangaluru.
The actor went public about this after Gowda got engaged to the other woman, and filed the police complaint.
Police then questioned Karthik Gowda, who managed to obtain anticipatory bail in the case. The Karnataka High Court had earlier this year dismissed Karthik's petition to close the case against him.
