Karnataka: Schools, colleges told to observe Constitution Day

The department of school education and literacy has issued a circular, directing schools and PU colleges in Karnataka to observe Constitution Day on November 26 by simultaneous reading of the preamble. This is applicable to government, aided and unaided schools of the state.

BENGALURU: The department of school education and literacy has issued a circular, directing schools and PU colleges in Karnataka to observe Constitution Day on November 26 by simultaneous reading of the preamble. This is applicable to government, aided and unaided schools of the state.
The day is observed to commemorate November 26, 1949, when the Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India.

To create awareness of the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution, schools have to organize simultaneous reading at 11am on Saturday. Additionally, the preamble and fundamental duties of the Constitution have to be placed at a prominent place on the school campus. The circular has told schools to conduct debate, quizzes and essay competitions on various aspects related to the Constitution.
