Ramachandra D Huddar
issued the warrant after the MP failed to attend the hearing on Monday.
The case pertains to a provocative speech by the MP on January 1, 2017 during submitting of a representation to the circle inspector of
Konaje police station
regarding the delay in unearthing the murder of 27- year-old
Karthik Raj, son of one Umesh Ganiga, a former vice-president of taluk panchayat on October 22, 2016.
In their complaint submitted on January 2,2017, the Ullal Block Congress Committee had complained that Kateel had misused the permission granted for silent protest and made a provocative speech saying that if the police fail to nab the culprits within a 10-day deadline, the entire district would be set ablaze.
