NEW DELHI: Lokayukta officials raided seven government officers on Friday in connection with a disproportionate assets case. Searches were carried out across multiple locations in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Chitradurga, Raichur, and Bagalkote.
According to a senior Lokayukta officer, the raids targeted two officers in Bengaluru and Belagavi each, and one officer each in Chitradurga, Raichur, and Bagalkote.
The officers under investigation include Sanjay Manded, First Division Assistant at the Sub-Registrar Office in Belagavi South; Shashidhar, Manager in the District Backward Class Department in Chitradurga; and Shivalingaiah Hiremath, Panchayat Development Officer in Bagalkote's Holageri Grama Panchayat.
Other officers raided include Madhav Rao, Assistant Executive Engineer at the Hebbal Engineering Department in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike; TK Ramesh, Deputy Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayatraj Department; Narasinga Rao Gujjar, Assistant Accounts Officer at the Raichur District Panchayat; and Sanjay Annappa Durgannavar, Supervisor in the Animal Husbandry Department.
The raids, which began early in the morning, are expected to continue until the evening, said Lokayukta sources.
