Karnataka HC orders notice to assembly, speaker and state govt

BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court on Thursday ordered notice to legislative assembly, its speaker, state government and three complainants in response to the petition filed by journalists Ravi Belagere and Anil Raj. Adjourning the hearing on Wednesday, Justice A S Bopanna observed that everybody's privilege be protected. This was when counsel for petitioners prayed the court for granting interim order saying that the duo may be arrested as the assembly has reaffirmed the decision imposing one year rigorous imprisonment and Rs 10,000 sentence imposed on them.
