‘No one listens to me, I don’t want govt job’: Noted actor Nandini MC dies by suicide in Bengaluru; what her death note said
BENGALURU: A 26-year-old television serial actress allegedly died by suicide at her paying guest accommodation in Kengeri, west Bengaluru, late Sunday night.
The deceased, Nandini MC from Kotturu in Vijayanagar district, had been living in the PG at Mylasandra for two years, police said.
A death note in Kannada was recovered in which Nandini told her mother she was upset over life and her failed acting career. "I was hoping to achieve success in my acting career, but no one listens to me. I do not want to go for a govt job," it read.
Her family said Nandini had acted in Kannada and Tamil serials. Investigations revealed her father, Mahabaleshwar, a govt school teacher, died in 2021. She was offered a govt job on compensatory grounds but rejected it, saying she wanted to pursue acting.
Her mother, Basavarajeshwari, told police Nandini came to Bengaluru in 2018 after completing her II PU. "Though she joined engineering, she discontinued it and started acting in tele-serials. In 2023, the govt offered her a job on humanitarian grounds, but she firmly rejected it," she said.
The suicide came to light around midnight when Puneet, a friend, alerted the PG manager after Nandini didn't respond to calls. When the manager and others broke open the door, they found her hanging from the window railings.
