Kannada movie completes a year in multiplex

BENGALURU: Sandalwood has scored another high with Kannada mystery thriller `Rangitharanga' completing a one-year run in the theatres.

The movie, which was directed by debutant Anup Bhandari and produced by H K Prakash, is also the first Kannada movie to have been screened for 365 days in multiplexes. The movie has been playing at Inox - Mantri Mall and Cinepolis -- Meenakshi Mall in the city.

As part of the celebrations, the makers re-released the movie in several theatres across the state on Friday by including a few new scenes. The movie will have a celebration show in Singapore on Saturday and will be released again in USA and at 11 centres across Europe in mid-July.

Starring Nirup Bhandari, Avantika Shetty and Radhika Chethan, Rangitharanga had found a spot in the list of 300 films that were shortlisted for Oscar nominations.
