SHIMOGA: An inter-religious marriage involving a Shimoga (Karnataka) girl and a Mysuru boy has landed in a row, with the parents of the Hindu girl filing a complaint with Jayanagara police station asking the cops to save their daughter.

After music teacher Aravind’s daughter

Anusha Hegde

(21) and Javed khan (35) tied the knot two years back, Aravind called it a "love jihad", alleging Javed, who was "already married twice", betrayed his daughter.

Arvind Hegde has now alleged that

Javed

made his daughter a drug addict and confined her inside his home.

Anusha leaves the home: Even as Anusha’s parents opposed the marriage, begging her not to go, she left the home and married Javed Khan. She was studying engineering at Mysuru Vidyavardhaka Engineering College when she met the real estate businessman Khan. Their friendship turned to love and then to wedding. Later, she converted to Islam with new name as B J Kuteja Khan.

After the "inter-faith wedding", Anusha’s parents had suffered silently, but recently, she returned home in Shimoga alleging harassment at the hands of her husband.

But after a week, she silently left the home and returned to Javed’s home. Father Arvind Hegde has now lodged a complaint saying she is missing.

The twice married Javed: Javed Khan was already married twice, as alleged. He had a daughter from first wife and a son from second wife, with

Anusha

having said she was taking care of his second wife’s son.

Anusha, who had made serious allegations against her husband Javed and his family in Mysuru, on December 5, has now turned against her parents. She contended that she married Javed on her own will and there was no pressure. She also said that there is no discord between them.

In front of the lawyer in Shimoga, she had alleged that her husband was harassing her and "jailed" her inside the home. But now she has complained against her parents accusing them of torture and forcefully aborting her child.

“Anusha’s parents have lodged the complaint with Jayanagara station. Investigations are on. The case cannot be considering as love jihad,” said superintendent of police Abhinav Khare.
