BENGALURU: Sleuths from Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday raided a former tahsildar and an employee of the sub-registrar office, Yelahanka, after registering criminal case against them and two others for illegally selling government land to a private individual last year.
A first information report (FIR) was registered on September 14 this year, accusing former tahsildar (special - Bengaluru North) BR Nagaraj and three employees of Yelahanka sub-registrar office — Shantamma, Manjunath alias Vale Manju and Usha — for forging documents and hatching conspiracy to sell four acres of government land in Hunsamaranagalli village illegally to a person.
Documents seizedOn Wednesday, officials raided the houses of Nagaraj in MC Layout, Vijayanagar, and his earlier office in Yelahanka and Vale Manju’s house in Someshwaranagar.
“We’ve seized documents pertaining to the illegal sale. Prima facie, it’s clear that the accused forged documents to facilitate the sale,” an ACB official said.
