Sleuths from Anti Corruption Bureau
(ACB) on Wednesday raided a former tahsildar and an employee of the sub-registrar office, Yelahanka, after registering criminal case against them and two others for illegally selling government land to a private individual last year.
A first information report (FIR) was registered on September 14 this year, accusing former tahsildar (special - Bengaluru North) BR Nagaraj and three employees of Yelahanka sub-registrar office — Shantamma, Manjunath alias Vale Manju and Usha — for forging documents and hatching conspiracy to sell four acres of government land in Hunsamaranagalli village illegally to a person.
Documents seizedOn Wednesday, officials raided the houses of Nagaraj in MC Layout, Vijayanagar, and his earlier office in Yelahanka and Vale Manju’s house in
Someshwaranagar
.
“We’ve seized documents pertaining to the illegal sale. Prima facie, it’s clear that the accused forged documents to facilitate the sale,” an ACB official said.
