BANGALORE: Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) president and Archbishop of Bombay Cardinal Oswald Gracias on Saturday called for humanizing social, political, economic and religious structures and institutions in the country.
“Any form of exploitation results in de-humanization: oppression of women dehumanizes them, discrimination against the disadvantaged dehumanizes them.
We need to root out all such forms of dehumanization for a better India. In the process, we might even suffer as some of our own community members have shown by paying a price with their lives,” he told the 30th general body meeting of the CBCI at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences.
