Tumkur: There was high drama in Turuvekere town. The BJP rebel candidate and Muniyur gram panchayat chairman and loyalist of Katta Subramamanya Naidu M R Rajashekhar stunned everyone by coming in a helicopter.
After landing at the Government College ground, he went in a procession to the taluk office to submit his nomination papers. Dinesh Katta, son of Katta Subramanya Naidu, and BJP workers stopped him on the way and took him to an unknown place.
On behalf of Rajashekhar, his elder brother Ramachandraiah filed the nomination. Lakshminarayan was defeated by Jaggesh in the last election in May.
If the candidate doesn't take the oath before the electoral officer, that nomination will be rejected. Speaking to TOI, returning officer of Turuvekere assembly Basavarajendra said if Rajashekhar doesn't take the oath before 3 pm of Wednesday, his nomination will be rejected.
