Helmetless rider bites fingers of cop who tried to take his pic

BENGALURU: Police on Monday arrested a 28-year-old private company employee for allegedly biting the fingers of a traffic police constable who tried to take a picture of him riding without a helmet.
The accused, S Syed Shafi of I Stage, BTM Layout, was spotted riding a two-wheeler without a helmet on Dr. Marigowda Road around 11:30 am by head constable Sidrameshwara Kaujalagi, who took out his mobile to click a photo of the helmetless rider.

“Suddenly, the rider stopped his bike and yelled at the constable, saying he’d hand over the number plate to him and he could click as many pictures as he needed. Then, the youth snatched Kaujalagi’s mobile phone and tried to speed away. However, Kaujalagi chased and stopped him. Then, the youth (later identified as Shafi) attacked Kaujalagi and bit his fingers. Hearing the commotion, a Hoysala vehicle reached the place and detained the youth,” a police officer said.
The youth has been released on station bail.
