'He was lying there, clothes torn': RCB fan dies in Bengaluru amid IPL 2025 celebration chaos; family blames delayed medical aid
“We don’t know what happened, but when we found him, he was lying there, clothes torn,” said one of his friends. “We asked police for help, but they hesitated. Finally, they took us in a police jeep. All along the way to the hospital we tried to revive him by giving him CPR and mouth-tomouth resuscitation. The police dropped us at the hospital and left.”

The RCB victory parade was scheduled for today starting at 5 pm from Vidhana Soudha and culminating at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, through the route atop an open bus as fans line the streets in celebration. It was called-off by the Bengaluru Police citing logistic and security constraints. (Pic credit: PTI)

In the line of events, RCB’s team visited the Chinnaswamy Stadium to participate in a special felicitation programme hosted by the Karnataka State Cricket Association. However, the event was cut short after the news of the stampede. (Pic credit: PTI)
His parents were contacted, and they rushed to the hospital. Bhoomik’s mother believes her only son may have survived had there been proper medical facilities on-site. His father, while comforting his wife, asked, “Why did this happen to my son? If he had told me this morning that he would be going to the stadium, I would not have allowed him to go. Though 21, we looked after him like a baby. He was studious and dreamt of pursuing higher studies. He never hurt anybody but look at what has happened to him.”

Adding injury to pain and grief, chief minister Siddaramaiah’s arrival at the hospital delayed the documentation process.
