HC: Why do you send staff on deputation?

BANGALORE: A HC division bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath on Wednesday asked the urban development secretary and BBMP commissioner to respond to the deputation/repatriation controversy involving engineers.
“Why do you send your children (engineers) to play in other people’s houses (departments)? On the one side you cite shortage of staff, on the other, you send them on deputation.Now a situation has been created where these engineers have nowhere to go. What is going on in your administration? You send your lecturers and teachers to taluk and zilla panchayat administrative posts on deputation. After a few years, they forget the art of teaching,” the bench observed while adjourning the hearing to Friday.
