HC issues NBW against MLC, family

BANGALORE: Scandals and allegations seem to be part of the BJP government. A division bench comprising Justice K Sreedhar Rao and Justice K N Keshavanarayana issued a non-bailable warrant on December 2, through the commissioner of police, against BJP MLC Lehar Singh, his wife Shanti Bai, sons Deepak Kumar and Sanjay Kumar, returnable by December 13.
The issue came up as the Sanjay Nagar police had filed an appeal before the HC in June, challenging the lower court order with respect to a dowry death case against the respondents in the matter.Reacting to the NBW, Sanjay Nagar police said that as the matter was before the court, proper action would be taken after consulting the state public prosecutor.
"The accused may appear before the Registrar or public prosecutor," said a senior police official.
