Guest lecturers not paid for 3 mnths

Bengaluru: Around 14,000 guest lecturers of first grade colleges have not yet received their salaries for the past three months, pushing them to the wall. The guest lecturers get around Rs 26,000-Rs 32,000 per month.G Jagadeesha, commissioner of collegiate education, said the amount for the first quarter of this financial year was released on Wednesday. “Usually, we get the salary before the 10th of every month. We have not received the salary since May. It is extremely difficult for us to sustain in a city like Bengaluru with our families,” said a guest lecturer. tnn
