Gowda: Sonia and I have a working pact
BANGALORE: JD(S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda has time and again indicated he and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi had worked out certain parameters before the coalition government in Karnataka was constituted.
While members in both parties are keen to know the details, Gowda, in an interview to The Times of India here on Wednesday, said it would be "sacrilege" to make it public.

"There were six rounds of one-on-one discussions between Sonia and me. I''ll not disclose unless circumstances warrant."
According to him, there was perfect coalescence in the state cabinet despite minor irritants. But the same was not reflected between the two at the party level. On CM Dharam Singh''s performance, Gowda said: "It is not unsatisfactory; he''s managing better than the coalition government at the Centre." He denied that deputy chief minister and one-time confidant Siddaramaiah had distanced from him.
Iterating he has no intentions of destabilising the government, Gowda said his son and state JD(S) working president H.D. Kumaraswamy holding parleys with party MLAS prior to ministry expansion was only to "draw New Delhi''s attention".
On his equations with Sonia, the former PM said: "When I''ve not attributed any motive to Sonia, PM or CM, the question of relationships being bruised does not arise."
