Governor, CM & actors to attend yoga events today

Bengaluru: The government has organised multiple events in different parts of the state to mark International Yoga Day on Wednesday.The Ayush department, along with the health and family welfare department, has organised a mega event in front of Vidhana Soudha, which will be inaugurated by governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at 6.30am. Chief minister Siddaramaiah, deputy CM DK Shivakumar, assembly speaker UT Khader and council chairperson Basavaraj Horatti will take part in the event.The Yoga Centre of Bangalore University has also organised performances by students and faculty members at Kalabhavan campus on Jnanabharati campus at 8am. Around 10,000 people are expected to take part in the event hosted by BGS Group of Institutions and Hospitals at BGS Health City in Kengeri at 8am.Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt will teach participants Omkara while Prakashanatha Swamiji will train participants in breathing exercises. Several dignitaries, including higher education minister MC Sudhakar, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, Sandalwood actors Sapthami Gowda and Priyanka Upendra, and producer Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar will take part.
