From this year, documents will be verified online

The practice of Common Entrance Test (CET) candidates travelling to different centres of the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) across the state for document verification and spending hours together in these centres will soon be history .

BENGALURU: The practice of Common Entrance Test (CET) candidates travelling to different centres of the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) across the state for document verification and spending hours together in these centres will soon be history. KEA is set to launch an online document verification system from this year.
CET candidates, aspiring for professional undergraduate courses like engineering, medicine and others, were facing too many problems.For, KEA doesn't have a document verification centre in each district --there are only 13 centres across the state.

To ease process: KEA officials said online document verification will be launched to ease the admission process for CET aspirants.
Every year, over 1 lakh IIyear PU and class 12 students of ICSE and CBSE schools appear for the entrance exam.Once the new system is launched, students don't have to scan their documents to upload on the KEA website for verification. All they need are unique ID numbers.
The revenue department has been providing ID numbers pertaining to students' marks card, birth and caste certificates from last year.
For online document verification, students have to log on to KEA's website and key in the unique ID numbers of various documents provided by the revenue department. Im mediately, the computer will be able to verify whether the documents are fake or original as the details of certificates' UID numbers will be available on the KEA server.
However, KEA has not yet decided whether to offer the online document verification service to CBSE and ICSE students as their data with UID numbers of certificates is not available on its server.90% of work done: At least 90% of the work to launch online document verification is complete. Once done, apart from CET, all other admission work will be online.

Applying for CET is al ready being done online, said SN Gangadharaia, administrative officer, KEA. Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will hold a competitive examination on January 31 in two separate sessions for B.Sc Nursing and GNM Diploma candidates. This is for appointment of staff nurses in government autonomous institutions across the state.The candidates can download their hall tickets from KEA website http:kea.kar.nic.in.
The KEA will conduct Kannada examination on January 30 in Bengaluru for candidates who have applied for paramedical posts in the health and family welfare department. Candidates can download admission tickets from the KEA website.
