Nazia Ahmed, mother of ISIS sympathizer Sohail Ahmed, claimed her son is innocent and police have snatched the lone breadwinner of their family.
“Someone knocked on the door around 4am, and we thought some men from the mosque had come, so we opened the door. To my shock, around 15 men entered the house and asked for my son,“ she said.Nazia asked them who they were, and they answered, “We are police and have come to pick up your son for questioning.“
“I told them they can arrest me, but not my son.
They directed me not to talk emotionally and took my son into the kitchen,“ she said. After 15 minutes, police came out with my son and they all walked towards the door, Nazia said. “We are targeted because we don't raise our voice,“ she told media.
Mohammed Afzal's mother-inlaw Amtul Hafeez said they would consult their advocate before taking legal recourse. “We are in touch with our people. We just heard that Afzal was handed over to police custody. We don't want to speak since the matter is under investigation,“ she said.
