BANGALORE: Four persons accused in a double murder case at Devanahalli on May 12 were arrested on Sunday. The four had hacked to death Subramani alias Subbu and his friend Munegowda.
The arrested persons are Manjunath alias Kotthambari Manja, S Manjunath, Dinesh and Balakrishna.
On May 12, Subbu and Munegowda were going to meet Manja to talk about a criminal case.
Subbu had filed an attempt-to-murder case against Manja in 2007, and the case trial was due. While Manja wanted a compromise, Subbu wanted to pursue the case.
According to the police, when Subbu and Munegowda approached Manja near Anjaneya Swamy temple road in Devanahalli, the former duo attacked Manja and his friends. In retaliation, Manja and his gang snatched the weapons used by Subbu and hacked him and Munegowda to death.
After the gruesome act, the four accused fled to Andhra Pradesh. Later, the police sent a team to AP to track them down. They were arrested from a farmhouse in Penukonda district. "Two persons related to the case are absconding and a search is on," police said.
