NEW DELHI: The Central Crime Branch’s (CCB) Narcotics Control Wing arrested a foreign national for allegedly peddling banned MDMA crystals in the city, officials said on Wednesday. Drugs worth Rs 4 crore were seized in the operation carried out on May 14.
Based on a tip-off, CCB sleuths raided a house in Achyuthanagar under the Soladevanahalli Police Station limits, where two foreign nationals were suspected of selling MDMA to locals, including college students and IT/BT professionals. While one of the accused was nabbed, the other managed to flee.
During the raid, authorities recovered 2.58 kg of MDMA crystals, 1.48 kg of a white-coloured substance, and 1.1 kg of a brown-coloured substance. Police also seized an iPhone, a two-wheeler, and an electronic weighing machine from the premises.
The arrested accused was produced before a court on May 15 and sent to judicial custody. CCB officials said efforts are underway to trace the absconding suspect.
