BENGALURU: An Air India flight with 323 Indians on board departed Heathrow airport, UK, to Bengaluru via New Delhi on Sunday. It is expected to reach Bengaluru after 8am on Monday. The flight was delayed heavily due to ticketing issues. Many who were shortlisted to travel were unable to make payments online on the link provided by Air India.

Many passengers complained they got confirmation only hours before the departure. “Please provide confirmation mail at least 24 hrs before departure. My friend got the mail a few hours ago regarding booking of his seat. He was from Scotland. People have to travel for hours to reach Heathrow,” Anshika Gupta tweeted to which the High Commission of India (HCI) in the UK replied: “For the next set of flights, we’ll give sufficient notice to everybody.”

Can we still take those flights?” asked Twitter user @ sriharsha_space “In the last 72 hours May 7: added to the HCI waitlist May 7: received call from HCI confirming travel May 8: added to AI waitlist May 9: my details, payment requested by AI May 10: received ticket approx 8 hours before ETD,” tweeted @GoingMeghana
