BENGALURU: Five new positive Covid-19 cases were confirmed in the state on Monday morning, taking the total number of infected to 395.

All five new cases were reported from Kalaburagi district, which now accounts for 27 cases. The district has also recorded three of the state's 16 Covid-19 fatalities.

All the five new patients are contacts of Covid-19 patients and only one of them is a woman.

They include a 50-year-old man, a contact of a 65-year-old Covid-19 positive male who died in April 7, and a 17-year-old boy, a contact of a 57-year-old man who was found infected earlier.

The other three positive cases are linked to a 55-year-old man who had tested positive on April 10 and died on April 13. They include a 13-year-old boy, a 30-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man.

So far, Karnataka has seen 111 Covid-19 patients recovering and being discharged.
