BENGALURU: During the early hours of Wednesday, fourteen patients, including several admitted to the ICU, were evacuated safely after a fire broke out at a private hospital in Bengaluru, police said.According to police, the incident was reported around 3.15 am at Aveksha Hospital located on MS Palya Road in the Singapura area of the city. No injuries or casualties were reported among patients or staff.Fire tenders immediately rushed to the hospital soon after receiving information about blaze, and the fire was brought under control before it could spread further inside the building, a senior police officer said.The fire is suspected to have started from electrical cable located in the basement duct of the hospital. The incident led to dense smoke spreading through parts of the premises, creating panic among patients and staff members.As a precautionary measure, the evacuated patients were shifted to a nearby hospital for continued medical care.Officials from Vidyaranyapura police station inspected the spot spot and carried out an inspection after the fire was extinguished, police said.(With PTI inputs)
