Bengaluru: A 48-year-old farmer died after he accidentally drank pesticide at his residence at

on Saturday.
The deceased is Basavaraj. His wife
Thayamma
told police that her husband had purchased pesticide and filled it in a bottle, which he had kept in his bedroom. At around 4am on May 1, he felt thirsty in his sleep.
Basavaraj woke up and drank from the pesticide bottle, mistaking it for water.
He started vomiting in the evening and was rushed to a hospital. Only when doctors told him and his family about the presence of poison in his system did Basavaraj realise that he had consumed pesticide early in the morning.
He breathed his last on Saturday. Bidadi police have registered a case of unnatural death. The body has been handed over to the family. tnn
