Ex-Air Force personnel jumps onto metro track in Bengaluru, rescued

BENGALURU: Namma Metro train services were briefly disrupted on Monday morning after a former Air Force personnel jumped onto the tracks at Jalahalli metro station.

The incident occurred around 10.25am.

Prompt action by metro security swiftly activated the Emergency Trip System (ETS), ensuring the man was safely rescued.

According to a press release from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the 49-year-old ex-Air Force personnel escaped without injuries.

Train operations on the green line resumed normal service by 10.50am.

During the disruption period, from 10.25am to 10.50am, BMRCL managed to operate short-loop trains between Yeshwanthpur and Silk Institute, rather than extending them to Madavara metro station.
