Environment awards announced

bangalore: forest minister k.h. rangnath on monday announced awards to 10 persons for their contribution to environmental issues. according to the press release issued here, nagesh hegde has been selected for the award from the media and manjunath hegde from hosabale village of shimoga district will get bio-diversity award. the environmental awareness award has been given to two persons - r.k.nesargi of belgaum and t.c. devanath of tenkala koppalu in hunsur taluk. in the grazing lands and herbal plants category, the award has gone to v. venkatagiri of shimoga while bangalore water supply and sewage board assistant engineer p.n. ravindra has bagged environmental research award. while siddeshwara mahashetty of ramdurga taluk in belgaum district has been selected for social forestry award, c. ramanna of bangalore will get rural water supply and sanitation award. the wildlife award will go to k. puttaswamy while h. paramesh will get environmental health award.
