An engineering graduate from Odisha, who came in search of a job in the city was caught while he was found selling ganja his single room accommodation from BTM Layout II stage in the city on Saturday.

BENGALURU: An engineering graduate from Odisha, who came in search of a job in the city was caught while he was found selling ganja his single room accommodation from BTM Layout II stage in the city on Saturday.
DCP (south east) Rohini Katoch Sepat said the accused Raju alias Antaryami Sahu, 30, was in possession with 1.1 kg narcotic worth Rs 1.4 lakh and Rs 25,000 he earned from selling the narcotic to students and software engineers in the city.

“Raju had come from his native Barhampur in Ganjam district of Odisha to the city in 2013 and was searching for a job after completing his engineering graduation in electronics and electricals. He was in the habit of smoking ganja while he was studying and had contacts to supply the narcotic in Odisha. He used to procure Ganja from his native state and was selling small packets for Rs 100 and Rs 400 for his customers,: the DCP said.
Police said Raju for a brief period took up some job in a company, but left it for conducting his drug pushing business targeting only students and software engineers as his customers. “He was known as Raju among his customers and some policemen laid a trap for him on a tip off, caught him and seized the narcotic from his single room accommodation in BTM Layout I stage,” police said.
