BENGALURU: A 30-year-old hardware engineer who got married recently was arrested by Suddaguntepalya police from West Bengal a week after he allegedly murdered his pregnant wife and absconded.
The accused is Nasir Hussain, a resident of Subhashnagar in BTM Layout and from Kolkata. He had booked a flight ticket to Delhi from Bengaluru before murdering his wife, Naz Khanum.
He sent a message to his brother-in-law to inform him of her death.
Police sources said Hussain suspected his wife of infidelity and was not ready to accept that he was the father of the baby. It led to a fight between the couple.
Hussain works in a private firm and fell in love with Khanum, who lived near his residence in Electronics City. They got married six months ago. Hussain smothered Khanum to death on January 15 night. The incident came to light around 10 am on January 16.
