BENGALURU: A fleet of electric taxis from BluSmart Mobility on Monday got an exclusive pick-up bay for passengers at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) alongside app taxi aggregators Uber and Ola.
This comes as a huge relief for arriving passengers who often face harassment from app-based cab drivers in terms of booking cancellations and dearth of cabs.
According to KIA sources, BluSmart’s pick-up zone was inaugurated on Monday morning with a fleet of e-cabs for disembarking passengers to book. This makes it the airport’s first dedicated electric cab-hailing bay, as till now there were pick-up points only for Uber and Ola.
Shoffr, an all-electric SUV fleet for airport transfers doesn’t have a dedicated pick-up zone at Bengaluru airport.
EV cabs operator BluSmart, based in Delhi, started operations in Bengaluru on September 25, 2022 with a few cabs on a trial basis.
