Bengaluru: A BMTC electric bus rammed into the wall of a restaurant at Nagadevanahalli in west Bengaluru in the early hours of Sunday. No injuries were reported.
According to Jnanabarathi traffic police, the incident happened at 6.30am. The bus, bearing registration number KA-51-AH-4642 and driven by Mutturaj, was heading towards Nagarabhavi from KR Market. There were four passengers inside.
The restaurant, Roti Land, was damaged. It had an attached paan shop on its premises. The bus rammed the wall of the paan shop and damaged it. Based on a complaint filed by the restaurant owner, Jnanabarathi traffic police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving and causing damage to property against Mutturaj.
The driver told police he tried to avoid a two-wheeler on the curve and as it was raining on the white-topped road, he lost control of the vehicle. BMTC clarified there was no brake failure.
