BANGALORE: Kannada Development Authority (KDA) chairman Mukhyamantri Chandru has urged pro-Kannada organizations not to oppose the unveiling of poet Tiruvalluvar's statue in Bangalore on August 9.
Instead, he asked the activists to hold a dialogue with the government, if necessary. "It is a good move and shouldn't be linked to other disputes between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu,'' Chandru said on Saturday.
KDA plans
The KDA will hold a lecture series at the Freedom Park every Sunday and the BBMP would organize cultural programmes on Saturdays and Sundays.
Chandru said the lectures will be by eminent persons on various issues.
