MANGALORE: In the field of medical education and profession, everyday is a learning process and the senior doctors should act as pathfinders for changes in medical science. Also they should adopt and impart latest technology and dispense with the conventional practice and procedures, said N Vinay Hegde, President, Nitte Education Trust, here on Sunday.
He was delivering the inaugural address during the one-day CME programme on the `Practical Ophthalmology'' organised by Department of Ophthalmology, K S Hegde Medical Academy (Kshema), Derlakatte, in association with Karnataka Ophthalmic Society and S K Ophthalmic Club.
He also called upon all the medical professionals to participate in the CME programme at regular intervals so as to enable them to update their knowledge.
In his presidential address, Dr Vijay Gramopadhye, President of Karnataka Ophthalmic Society, complimented Dr Shantharam Shetty, Dean of Kshema, and the ophthalmologists for organising the scientific session which was of immense benefit to the practicing Ophthalmologists and teaching faculty.
Dr K R Murthy, Director, Vittal International Ophthalmic Institute, Bangalore, speaking as a guest faculty opined that the attention, devotion and dedication is the essence of innovations.
Stalwarts in the field of ophthalmology like Dr G V Divakar, M S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, Dr T K Ramesh, Regional Institute, Bangalore, and Dr Prashanth, St Johns Medical College, Bangalore, delivered guest lectures during scientific sessions and enlightened the participants with the valuable insights into practical Ophthalmic problems with audio-visual presentation and interaction with the participants.
