BELAGAVI: Former BJP MLA and former minister Aravind Limbavali has joined the chorus of discontent over the appointment of BY Vijayendra and R Ashoka as state BJP president and leader of the opposition (LOP) in the assembly, respectively. Limbavali, a Dalit face in BJP, expressed dissatisfaction over the selection of the party state unit president and leader of opposition, alleging "adjustment politics" has prevailed over merit.
"Maybe they (party brass) thought we would get more seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections because of their 'understanding' with leaders in rival parties," he said sarcastically.

Of the 66 BJP MLAs who won in the last assembly polls held earlier this year, Limbavali said some won on their own strength, while others resorted to "adjustment politics".
"It's high time we put an end to adjustment politics", he said. Asked by the media to elaborate on what exactly he meant by "adjustment politics", Limbavali just smiled and said "you do understand". Last week, Limbavali, who had been the BJP general secretary in the past, said party members were raising questions about Vijayendra's qualification to be appointed as the state president, other than him being former CM BS Yediyurappa's son.
