Diarrhoea outbreak in Tumakuru village

Bengaluru: Soralamavu village in Tumakuru district reported 19 suspected cases of acute diarrhoea, including two fatalities, since last week. However, health officials said it has not yet been determined if diarrhoea was the primary cause of death.To prevent the disease from spreading, officials said an emergency treatment facility has been set up in Soralamavu. Additionally, water samples from the village are being collected and sent to laboratories for analysis to determine the cause of the outbreak. Those suffering from diarrhoea have been advised to consume ORS and take medications to prevent dehydration.
