Dharwadkar leads Dharwad to victory

Bengaluru: Madhava Dharwadkar (85) hit a half-century to help Dharwad Zone secure a five-wicket win over Mysore Zone in the KSCA U-19 inter-mofussil cricket tournament here recently. Asked to bat first, Mysore struggled to 189 in 46.1 overs with only Tejas Krishnan MA (61) and Amogh H (26) playing well. Deepak Neeralagi, Saurav P Samant, Samarth V Bapannavar and Dhruv Desai scalped two wickets each for Dharwad.Dharwad were in trouble early on, losing openers Mathew Nilugul and Anmol Pagad before the eighth over. But number three batter Dharwadkar led from the front, smashing seven fours and three sixes in his 105-ball knock as Dharwad reached the target in the 42nd over.
