BENGALURU: In a big set back for deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar, the Karnataka high court on Thursday dismissed his petition challenging the FIR registered against him by the CBI in a disproportionate assets case.
Justice K Natarajan also directed the CBI to complete the investigation and file the chargesheet in three months time. All the interim orders granted hitherto by the court stood vacated.
Shivakumar had challenged the FIR registered by the CBI on October 3, 2020. In February this year, the court had granted stay on the investigation.
The CBI claims that during the check period, between April 1,2013 and April 30,2018, DK Shivakumar and his family members were found in possession of around Rs 74.8 crore disproportionate assets which he( DK Shivakumar) has failed to explain with proper documents.
