BANGALORE: The Bangalore civic authority is serious on disposing of garbage in a scientific manner. And the high court wants errant citizens punished suitably. The Karnataka high court on Thursday asked the government and BBMP to file a status report before October 9 on the disposal of garbage in Bangalore. The court wants the BBMP to take strict punitive action against citizens violating segregation norms.
The BBMP on Thursday asked hotels, malls, offices, convention halls and educational institutions to start waste segregation from Oct. 1. Also, they have been asked to compost wet waste on their premises or pay to hand it over to the BBMP.
