BANGALORE: At a security overview of the
BJP rally at the Place Grounds on Sunday where
Narendra Modi is scheduled to speak, Bangalore police commissioner Ragavendra Aurandkar said elaborate arrangements have been made to tackle any contingencies.
"All hospital around the grounds will be on stand-by. The department of fire and emergency, Home Guards and other agencies have been looped into the security arrangements.
We're also in touch with the National Disaster Management Authority," he said.
The commissioner will be in-charge of security and he'll be assisted by senior officers. "Even a policeman will have to prove his identity before entering the venue. There'll be a no-man's land of four blocks between the venue and the crowd. Except for the NSG, his personal guards and our cops, no one will be allowed to go into that area," he added.
Narendra Modi will be transported to the venue by helicopter.
